The Dish: Guacamole is a fresh and easy dip to make (Especially once I started cutting avocados correctly!). This recipe keeps it simple and has just been a creation of how we like it in our house. You can make it your own by subbing ingredients you like. Hope you enjoy!
Serving Size: 1/4 cup
INGREDIENTS
2 avocados, skin and pit removed, diced
1 tomato, scrape out liquid, diced
1 jalapeño pepper, diced (can leave seeds for spice, I leave in just a few)
2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
1 lime
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
Sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Place the avocado in a bowl and slightly mash with a fork. (I like to leave it pretty chunky). Add the tomato, jalapeño, and garlic. Squeeze in the juice from the lime. Mix.
Add fresh cilantro and mix. Add salt and pepper. (I go pretty heavy on the pepper and about 3 pinches of sea salt.)
Serve with you favorite tortilla chips. We love Trader Joe's Quinoa and Black Bean Tortilla Chips with this.
